Dr. Bud was the City of Hillsboro Youth Running and Biking Program Director (as a hobby/part-time) from 2003 - 2010. He directed the Cross Country and Spring Running Clubs and his daughters Elisa and Erika were his paid staff running coaches.
He developed both a Kids Duathlon, Bike & Dash, and an Off Road Triathlon, Hike, Bike & Dash at Stub Stewart State Park partnering with Park Ranger Steve Krueger of the Oregon Parks Department.
He developed and taught the Youth "Ready Riders Rock" biking program and in 2005 was awarded a $5K grant from REI and purchased 10 quality Novara Disc brake Mountain Bikes. Parks & recreation gave him a trailer to haul them around to teach kids the Art of MTN Biking.
FitnessWork Youth Duathlon
Dr. Bud and FitnessWork, LLC partnered with the City of Hillsboro Parks & Recreation to develop, sponsor and run the Annual Youth FitnessWork Kids Bike & Dash at the Hillsboro Stadium.
